AEA Annual Conference 2019

The Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) Annual Conference kicks off this Sunday in Brighton and we are looking forward to attending as usual again this year – visit us at stands 16, 17 and 18.

As most of you will know, towards the end of last year the ERS Group was acquired by the Civica Group, market leaders in business-critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services for the public sector and regulated markets. This exciting development has provided us with new and stronger capabilities whilst we maintain the focus and flexibility to respond to the needs of our customers. We’re looking forward to introducing some of our new colleagues from Civica at conference from Sunday, but rest assured all the usual faces will be there too.

This year, alongside our sister companies Xpress and Shaw’s, we have plenty to update you on. Stop by our stands to learn more about:

ScanERS

We are the most experienced provider of local authority democratic services in the UK. This experience means we understand that processing Household Response Forms (HEFs) creates a lot of work for busy electoral services teams, not to mention taking up space in the office. So, to help with paper returns, our HEF scanning service ScanERS, opens, sorts and scans the returns straight into your work queues. In 2017/18 we helped 15 local authorities ease their workload by using this service. Please visit us at AEA to find out how ScanERS can help you this canvass.

Mobile Canvasser App 2

Xpress Mobile Canvasser App 2

Xpress’ next generation of the UK’s most popular canvassing app. A growing number of local authorities are equipping canvassers with the Mobile Canvasser App, which is proven to improve return rates for the Invitation to Register (ITR) and the Household Response Form (HEF). It works seamlessly with Xpress Register and saves time and money by enabling canvassers to capture and sync data seamlessly.

VotePod™

Portable voting booth VotePod

    • Shaw’s new compact, portable voting booth solution. Aware of the multiple logistical challenges local authorities face when distributing voting booths to their respective polling stations, we recognise that it is not always ideal to use a traditional wooden booth in all locations. We listened to the typical issues encountered by elections staff, and are delighted to offer our solution, the VotePod™ – an ingenious, compact, adaptable, portable and, above all, affordable voting booth which can be easily lifted and assembled by a single person.

News

Xpress are LGC Awards finalists! We’re proud to have made the shortlist in the category ‘Driving Efficiency through Technology’ in partnership with Swindon Borough Council. We have made the shortlist for being the first digital electoral register used in a UK election. We will be at the Awards evening on the 13th March 2019 alongside more than 1,100 local authority professionals.

Nick Crump, Managing Director of Xpress, said:

The LGC Awards is a great event which recognises and rewards the very best in local government. It is an honour to be a finalist in the category of ‘Driving Efficiency through Technology’ for our part in trialling the first digital electoral register used in a UK election alongside Swindon Borough Council. We’re looking forward to hearing about the great work of local authority professionals at the Awards evening on the 13th March.

Let’s catch up

If you’re attending the AEA Annual Conference, do come and visit us at stand 16, 17 and 18 from Sunday where we will have a little treat for everyone. We look forward to seeing you at the Conference and to showing you, as part of Civica, how we are continuing to make democracy happen.
