Scanning/Data Capture

Having sophisticated scanning and data capture equipment in-house means that we can guarantee quick turn-around times from the point of a project closing to the provision of results.

Electoral Reform Services is one of the largest users of scanning equipment in the country, and has the capability to scan up to 40,000 double sided A4 or 30,000 double sided A3 documents per day.

In order to ensure the absolute quality of the data, the following checks are regularly applied:

• pre-counting of batches to eliminate double feeds;
• double verification of questions;
• re-entry of forms that have been scanned at an angle; and
• cleaning of data to ensure respondents answer only their relevant questions.
